2010 Cinematographer and Photographer of the Year

Franz LustigCinematographer of the Year

Selected as Cinematographer of the Year is Franz Lustig, Berlin, who earned a master’s degree in cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg. Lustig’s awards list includes Best European Cinematographer 2005 for his second feature film, “Don’t Come Knocking.” The film was shot in Montana, Nevada and Utah in 36 days on 35mm film with anamorphic formatting. An earlier feature film, “Land of Plenty,” premiered at the 2004 Venice Film Festival and was shot in 16 days. It starred Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard, who also was a writer on the project. He lives in Berlin and Los Angeles.

Erwin OlafPhotographer of the Year

Photography is “a combination of technical skills, fantasy and a little bit of undefined emotion.”

Amsterdam resident Erwin Olaf received his "Best" statuette from Mobius Chairman Lee Gluckman. Olaf has been drawn to staged photography and developed an interest in carbon printing. You can see one of his creations at the Haute Living blog.
